Learn the trade of boat building in the heart of Twillingate, an outport fishing community in Central Newfoundland. Step back through time to see how wooden boats were constructed to take on the Atlantic Ocean. Then meet the local resident boat builder and take part in an interactive half day or a 3 day boat building workshop. Guided tours of the museum are available upon request. This new cultural display is hosted in partnership with the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador.

This museum is a treasure. It's an engaging and enchanting trip into the history of the area, showing you how people built boats when it wasn't just a hobby, but the only way you would have a boat. The interpretation is engaging and kids are made very welcome. They're shown how to build a simple toy boat, which they keep. The whole experience is charming
