Some of the best West Indian food around. Locals and tourists pile in for her callaloo, fungi, Ole Wife (triggerfish), fried plantains and sweet potatoes.

Interesting location, local dishes. Nice portions (may need a "to go bag")

Gladys’s adds such a flavorful element to any day in Charlotte Amalie. Authentic West Indian dishes are prepared well, and, they are served with friendly island style. For many of us locals, this is where we get our comfort food after long trips to cold climates. If you are interested in food culture, take the opportunity to ask your waitress about provisions or kallaloo... You can begin a journey of discovery that starts with your tastebuds, but, which takes you Africa, Europe and back to the Caribbean. There are also American favorites like “French” toast and burgers etc. Gladys’s is open for breakfast and lunch.

Downtown! Glady’s Cafe is one of the hallmark downtown restaurants. Located just off Main Street down Royal Dane Mall, this restaurant features authentic, local cuisine. If you’re into heat, try a dab of their signature pepper sauce on your oxtails, stew chicken or steamed fish. Consider this a must have lunch spot. Glady’s closes at 3:30pm.
