The Allen Street Grill hired the chef from the original Spats. Check out the Louisiana-inspired cuisine and some of the best food in State College. Upscale restaurant and cocktail bar with occasional live music. Great for a date or small mature group when you want to avoid the crowds. Upstairs from the Corner Room. This is now Spats at the Grill since Spats Cafe lost its lease down the street. Spats focuses on New Orleans style cuisine, and for 30 years the food was always delicious. This new incarnation is worth a try. Allen Street Grill is one of the best settings in State College. Enjoy views from the second floor in front of the main Penn State campus gate. Make a reservation to sit in the window to see the bustle of the crossroads of State College. Or take a seat at the bar for food and craft cocktails.
