Nazaré liegt ca. 50 Minuten von Peniche entfernt und ist eine am Atlantik gelegene Stadt. Sie ist als Fischer- und Tourismusstadt bekannt. In jüngerer Zeit hat die grosse Welle nördlich von Nazaré die Aufmerksamkeit der internationalen Surfelite auf sich gezogen.

In der Unterstadt haben Sie eine schöne Promenade und Strand. Mit der Bergbahn gelangen Sie zum höher gelegenen Teil der Stadt. Von dort gelangen Sie an das Fort São Miguel Acanjo wo Sie im Winter die größten Wellen der Erde erleben können.

the Portuguese Mecca of Surf! Garrett McNamara chose to move there after breaking the world record for largest wave ever surfed! It is a lovely small town where you can eat good fish and chill with drinks over a great sunset.
