Monjayaki/Monja is a Japanese pan-fried batter with various ingredients similar to okonomiyaki but monja, a specialty of the Kantō region, is more moist. Many Monja shops are along this famous street.
Monja Street is centered on Tsukishima's commercial Nishi-Nakadori Ave. About 70 monjayaki restaurants are in fierce competition to create unique flavors with their monja (a kind of savory pancake featuring cabbage and various fillings).
