Best donuts ever. Try the chocolate glazed. Can you say sugar coma? They don't have a place to sit. The line starts I believe around 7am and when they run out they shut down. They have other pastries as well.

A must, if you are new to Lexington. A family owned bakery since 1929. The original bakery was on North Limestone and Sixth street. They moved to the new location on Winchester Road, simulating the structure of the old building. The hand formed, yeast doughnut melts in your mouth, especially when they are warm. Hours 6:30 to noonish, sooner if they run out of goodies...closed Monday and Tuesday. They offer cakes, filled and iced doughnuts..but my favorite by far is the yeast doughnuts. Be prepared to stand in line. I urge you to strike up conversation with others as you wait. The diversity is awesome...some customers dressed in PJ's, some in suits, and everything in between. I love hearing stories from fellow patrons.
