Travel 3 miles past the stoplight in Questa to NM 378. Turn left onto NM 378, and follow the signs about 12 miles west to the Wild Rivers Recreation Area. Beautiful hiking trails down into the Rio Grande Gorge, challenging, take lots of water and sturdy hiking boots if you plan on hiking down. There is a spring at the bottom of Big Arsenic to the right.

It's not really a 'park' but an official Bureau of Land Management (federal) protected area that you can driver around, hike down into the river canyons and just enjoy a picnic. Good biking out there too.

A 40 min drive from the space takes you to the heart of the Rio Grande del Norte's national monument. Hike down to the river for the day, throw a fly in water, go for a swim, check out amazing Native American rock art, bird watch, read a book or nap in the shade of pines along the river. This is a must for the active and adventurous types.
