With so much peccadillo of gluttony that we can do penance before the saints of the land. We will visit the simple but unique "Capela de São Gonçalinho", which is considered by some to be the city's patron. Cherished by the residents, it is the center of a unique popular festival in January, and the Aveirenses make promises, which are fulfilled in the launch of the cavacas at the top of the Chapel, for the people who try to catch them. Anything goes, from inverted umbrellas to fishing nets!

S. Gonçalo nascido em Amarante terá andado em Aveiro pelo Bairro da Beira-Mar no Séc. XIII, conquistou as gentes de Aveiro pelo seu jeito brincalhão, medidor de conflitos, dançarino e protetor dos mais desfavorecidos. Reza a lenda que levava pão aos mais pobres e doentes, nomeadamente aos leprosos, atirando os pães do alto dos muros para evitar contágios. Era conhecido em Aveiro pelo ´´nosso menino´´ devido ao seu rosto jovem e sorridente. A festa em sua homenagem é feita em Janeiro no dia 10, data da sua morte, e do alto da capela são atiradas cavacas (doce) relembrando os seus atos.
