A bit of a road trip. About 1 hour 45 from the property but we'll worth the drive. Excellent craft, food, plants and more market. Right on the river near the Waimarie paddle steamer (also worth a look!)

Every Saturday morning from 9am till 1pm. One of the best markets we've ever been to. Food, plants, art, craft, coffee.

Spend Saturday morning visiting the local farmers market situated next to the river. Pick up some bargains, fresh vegetables, locally produced treats for everyone. Open from 9am - 1pm every Saturday.

These weekly Saturday markets (8:30am-1pm) are a hot spot with visitors and locals! With over a hundred stalls, it’s the perfect place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat, restock the fridge and pickup some locally crafted gifts - from wooden crafts, to pottery and candles. Personal favourites are Bestowed Kai’s gourmet porridge, SourBros’ sourdough bread, Cinnamonui’s sweet scrolls and the macaron stall. We recommend bringing cash or withdrawing onsite as not all stalls offer EFTPOS

Every Saturday Morning, rain or shine you will find he appropriately named marked down by the riverside – on Mouta Quay in the heritage precinct, on the banks of the Whanganui River between the riverboat Waimarie and the Tram-shed. The site was a busy riverside trading site for local Maori, and know as Market Place in settler tomes. Enterprising people from our region are proud to be continuing this tradition as they set up in the first light of Saturday mornings, with the misty Whanganui River as their backdrop. www.therivertraders.co.nz www.facebook.com/WhanganuiRiverMarkets
