Life guards on duty all day. Great tidal pool area and rock pools for small kids to swim safely. Best swimming times are low tide. There is a small South African style shop that sells local favorites and hawkers selling local treasures, avocados and other organic fruit

Lucien Beach is situated near Margate's main beach and has Blue Flag status. This beach is clean. Facilities are clean and the dustbins are cleaned and washed every day. There is a tuck shop and the local ladies also sell their goods. There is ample security and the life guards. Definitely a lovely beach to swim, relax and fun for the whole family.

The 1 km long open, rock-less beach provides the perfect setting for that long, dawn/dusk beach walk alone, with a loved one or with the family. A little ways-away, but a 3 km drive along Lilliecrona Boulevard to a small parking area is worth the short drive.
