A moderate to hard hike (straight up). Wait until July after most the snow has melted then muster up the energy. The payoff is outstanding. Definitely read up on this hike and check local reports prior to departing. Go east of Sandpoint on Hwy 200 to Clark Fork, Id. Turn left downtown Clark Fork onto Lightning Creek road. Go approximately 1 mile and turn onto Forest Service road #276. Go approximately5 miles to trailhead.
