Perhaps the least windy beach near Christchurch . Lovely walking promenade , a big pock-marked rock to climb complete with a cave. Cave Rock restaurant next to the beach with a cafe and fish n chip shop over the road. Worth the visit.

On a beautiful day, it's an awesome day trip. The Sumner village has great shops and cafes. There's a cinema there too.

Beautiful beach in a picturesque setting. Visit Sumner on a sunny day and you will not be disappointed. The walk along the esplanade of the beach if you want to get your feet wet is excellent
