We recommend beginning your grocery shopping at "The Market". This is where primarily Fiji grown produce is offered for sale by local farmers and traders. Their prices tend to be better than the supermarkets. As of September 2023, the new Market building is under construction. At present, the Market is located oceanfront behind the Town Council building in the center of town.

SAVUSAVU FARMERS MARKET. The local farmers market is located right in town, next to Savusavu Bus Depot and is rural Fiji at its best. Shop for fresh locally grown fruit and vegetables, as well as seafood. You may on occasions find fresh tuna, lobster or prawns. There is a small Handicraft section where village women have hand carved souvenirs you may want to pick up. The market is not modern or air conditioned so expect to rough it out a bit.
