A perfectly sandy beach on the Columbia River. Great way to cool off and build sand castles in the summer or walk during the cooler months. Watch for the huge tug boats - headed out to sea!

Closest beach to Portland, get's crowded though. Make sure to stop for a pass at the convenience store.

30-40 minute drive. There are 5 distinct beaches on the north side of the island. These can get VERY crowded but if you show up early, you can get a prime spot. $10 daily parking permit. $30 annual (worth it for extended stays) -- purchase at The Cracker Barrel Store at the end of the access bridge of the island.

Beautiful river beach area about 30 minutes drive from N Williams, by taking highway 405 to highway 30 west. On the same island are a bunch of local farms where you can u-pick berries, apples, pears, and fresh produce.
