Where the first execution by electric chair took place and where all of NY's license plates are made. Maximum security prison right in the middle of Auburn! No tours, but interesting to see!

Though a weird one, this is actually an iconic prison as it is not only still in operation, but it was the site of the first Electric Chair (now in a museum) It was immortalized in the film: An American Tragedy

One of oldest maximum security prisons, and the oldest continuous employer, in New York State, located in the center of Auburn. Worth a drive around.
