You can see the church in the valley below. this is Quito's oldest colonial church. The square outside has a statue of Francisco de Orellana who set out from here on his travels to the Amazon. A gentle walk down -you might want to take a taxi back up!

Often overlooked but stunning convent. Built in the 1500s it is perched on the side of a mountain and overlooks the valleys. It is on "Conquistador Road" - the first road carved out by Spanish armies.
