Der venezianische Hafen von Chania mit dem ägyptischen Leuchtturm ist der größere Rest von zwei Häfen der gleichen Ära, von Heraklion und Rethymnon. Ein Spaziergang entlang seiner Seiten ist eine der besten Erlebnisse in Griechenland, da das gesamte Gebiet in Verbindung mit der alten venezianischen Stadt ein lebendiges venezianisches Denkmal ist.

Don't miss a trip to Chania harbour, to walk along the water front, sit in a cafe & people watch or just stroll the maze of backstreets which have lots of small shops. At night the lighthouse lights up the horizon and the harbour is reflected in the waters. There is a buzz in the air as cafes & restaurants on the waterfront begin to fill up.

The many shops let you think it is any normal town centre. But enter the harbor and view the old buildings in the side streets on the cobbles. Many hidden gems among them.
