Hamsterly forest has lots of outdoor activities . It is particularly popular with bike enthusiasts. There is a large play park in the forest and a gruffalo trail for the little ones. There is a cafe on site also. Great place for a picnic and some old fashioned outdoor games. Just a 10 mile drive on quiet country roads.

About 12 miles from Durham in a secluded valley in the countryside lies Hamsterley Forest. Great family fun with play areas, signposted walking and mountain biking trails and lots of other outdoor activities for all ages. Cafés and refreshments too.
