The Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail was constructed in honour of the park’s 125th anniversary. This trail offers cyclists, pedestrians, and other users a fantastic link from the Town of Canmore to the Banff Park East Gate. Users can enjoy 20km of continuous scenic paved pathway connecting the communities of Banff and Canmore. The trail also continues up to the Canmore Nordic Centre via a multi-use trail by the Rundle Power Plant on the Bow River. It can be busy on the trail. Expect to encounter other users of varying abilities. This multi-use recreation path is built for the enjoyment of diverse users – from cyclists to skateboarders, pedestrians, and in-line skaters. To ensure enjoyment of all users, please be considerate: - Travel at a reasonable and controlled speed - Be courteous to slower users - Always keep to the right - Wear a helmet - Announce "on your left" and pass with care at a reasonable pace - Horses always have the right of way; stop and allow horses to pass safely - Pets must be leashed

A fun paved biking trail that runs between Canmore and Banff. At around 16km long, it's a good workout, especially if you go from Canmore to Banff (more uphill). Hire bikes from Gear Up on Bow Valley Trail if you don't have any with you.
If you are looking for a bike ride, I would recommend the 40.8 km back and forth trail from Canmore to Banff. It features beautiful wildflowers and mountain views. It is rated as moderate. Best used from April until November.
