Schöne Stadt 50Km weit um durch die Altstadt spazieren zu gehen oder die Basilica de Sta. Luzia oben auf dem Berg zu besichtigen. In der Nähe die Praia do Cabedelo.

In Viana do Castelo you will find in the old Fishermen Quarter the best fish/seafood restaurants at the most conservative prices. The food is fresh and prepared by traditional cooks (most of the restaurants had a very humble start as someones kitchen or front room where the local daily catch was prepared, cooked and served to the local fishermen after a hard day at sea.). Find the streets "Rua Monsenhor Daniel Machado", "Rua Frei Bartolomeu dos Martires" ,"Rua Gois Pinto" and you'll come across the several restaurants to chose from. You may have to be a bit patient at times with the waiting time as these are quite popular specially at weekends nowadays, but believe me its worth!
