We take our dog here for walks. It’s a gorgeous lake. Take S. Shore Drive to the East end of the lake and you will come to a dead end where you can park and walk the trails into Donner Memorial State Park. There are also public beaches on both ends of the lake.

Explore Donner Memorial State park and Donner Lake! Picnic by the shore, rent kayaks/Stand-Up Paddle Boards and hike the trails along this gem of Truckee.

If you go in the summer and drive into the park, drive past the first few parking areas...it gets much less crowded.

It's only a 10min drive from the cabin. Great spot for water activities (paddle board, kayak, fishing, jet ski and boat rentals). Guests of the cabin have access to Donner Lake Beach Club Marina.
