Molokini crater was almost another Hawaiian island - but this crescent shaped crater just reaches out of the ocean just far enough to afford world class snorkeling and scuba diving. If you are looking for the clearest water for snorkeling and diving - you will not be disappointed as Molokini is far from shore where clarity can be impacted by waves crashing on beaches. Take a snorkeltour from Maalaea harbor. This tour is about 5 hours and usually include 2 snorkel locations- Molokini and Turtle Town. During December to March - the boat ride doubles as a Whale watching tour with high likelihood that you will see whale blows and maybe even a whale breech! 🐋
