From Esjustofa is a rather easy walk on a well marked trail up mt. Esja (about 600 mtrs) takes about an hour up and hour down. The view over Reykjavik is spectacular.

Esjan is the biggest mountain in Reykjavik, popular for hiking, 2 hours. Use proper gear in winter. 112 phone app - rescue app for hiking, put in where you are going and when you´ll be back. if that fails rescue teams will be alerted to see about your whereabouts.
