The theme park dedicated to Pinocchio . The historic villa and garden with butterfly park
In Collodi, a small town about half an hour away from Lucca, you can visit the very original Pinocchio Park dedicated to the famous long-nosed marionette. The park is set up completely outdoors. Walking inside the large garden, surrounded by the well-cared after vegetation, you’ll find all the main protagonists of the story: Pinocchio, the Fairy with Turquoise Hair, the Cat and the Fox and many other characters from the novel virtually accompany visitors and remind them some of the most relevant passages of the book.

The village of Collodi is made up of small houses cascading down from a steep hill. Its origin is similar to that of many other medieval villages, for mainly military reasons the population was forced to climb the hill to better defend itself from possible enemy attacks. The small houses are arranged on the sides of two triangles that touch the vertices, at the base of which are the ancient Rocca on one side and the majestic Villa Garzoni on the other. A real open-air museum is the Pinocchio Park, one of Collodi's main attractions.
