Susanville - a place where you can get lost and a place where you can find yourself!

Susanville is a place where you can get lost and a place where you can find yourself! One feature that makes us truly unique is our lack of contiguous neighbors meaning we are a town in the middle of nature. If you want to express your life and burst into the serenity of the natural world, this is where you tackle your senses. We have wildlife, we have diverse habitat and a range of aroma to keep your nose close and your mind questioning a nostalgic impression or a new imprint. The bubble of Susanville is the Gateway to the Outdoors! We are wild and our little city is the doorway to a familiar sense of friendly appreciation and something different that you may not be ready for though maybe you’ve been looking. Susanville attracts a variety of people with all sorts of views and its the views that our eyes cling to that keep us here. The connection to a pure reality is breath taking. Sometimes when I climb mountains here, I become part of it all. If you are searching, it'll find you. If you are lost, check out the pace from Susanville's lens. We can breath up here and we welcome you.

You can ride your bike or walk 25 miles all the way to Westwood on a beautiful scenic path along the Susan River. Also about 7 miles out of town beginning at Devil‘s corral, is what we call the southside Trail, it’s a very fun single track trail with a lot of elevation change Making its way back to the Bizjon’s in Trailhead a 10 minute walk from 1620 1/2. It is absolutely worth discovering!

A great place to throw the ball for your pup or toss out a picnic blanket and relax. There is a creek that runs through the park with lots of native vegetation. There are tennis courts and there is a skate park. Plenty of tables for BBQ and a historic ball park used by the college! And... a playground with swings! This is right next to Susanville Supermarket and just a quick walk from 1620 1/2. Enjoy!

They brew their own beer which is great. The blond seems to be the favorite! They make delicious pizza and can do gluten free and vegan options if you opt for no cheese. Fun games like air hockey and outdoor seating when the weather is warm enough!

This is a very special place to relax and take a look at the entire valley and the city within it as well as the variety of mountain ranges that encompass the view. You can see the high desert and the coniferous forest. It’s almost like this special place is at the juxtaposition of all good things. Drive to the end of Inspiration Point Road, park your car and hike the last quarter mile out to the overlooking cliff.
