One of the few elevated restaurants in Burlington – but the vide (like most things in Vermont) is quirky and casual. Amazing small mediterranean mezze plates. Great for a meal or apps and drinks. I loved their Tahini sundae!

Great location right on the water. You can make a res and eat at one of their tables, or grab it to go and eat in the cute grassy park or the fishing pier that’s right next to the restaurant.

Well-designed, cozy wine-bar with good food and informed staff. This place is a rising star with great aesthetics. If you’re into photo-worthy spots and great wine this is an amazing place for a meal or to kick off an evening. Their kitchen is tiny at this location but they manage to turn out surprisingly elevated options. They have a small lawn right on pine street with outdoor service and a small patio nearby. If you don’t want to dine-in, grab a bottle and some cheese from their market.

One of my favorite places to eat or grab a drink. This is the restaurant that’s part of Hotel Vermont, but the great design and good food has made it a local hangout. Go for live music on Friday nights(double check night/time). The have a small patio with a little view of the lake. During the winter it’s a really cozy spot and you can eat/drink by the fire.

Super duper breakfast sandwiches!! It’s vegetarian but they DEEP FRY scrambled eggs so they’re like fried chicken. The “chicken” and biscuit is a bit dry for me as they serve it but I love their Brakefast Sandwich and the Bastard Bing. It can get busy but the line moves fairly quickly.

*Only on Friday evenings. This is a memebers-only social club but it's open to the public on Fridays. Karaoke starts at 8 (this is a blue-collar type of scene). The venue is very bare-bones but it's on one of the prettiest pieces of property in Burlington, right on the lake. Drinks are really cheap and you can get no-frills food (do not come here for the food. It’s like basic burger etc) for $5-$10 and eat on the large lawn while you watch the sun go down over the mountains.

The sunset ridge trail up Mount Mansfield offers the best views above treeline on a Vermont hike. It's about a 6-7 mile hike with some scrabbling up rocks required. But the views are worth it. In the late fall/spring you will want good shoes and hiking poles are reccomended for slippery rocks at the top.
