The most famous painted village in the province of Varese and the first experience of "Outdoor Fresco Gallery" in Italy. This small village is a charming agglomeration of rural houses that tells of an agricultural society with activities related to sheep farming and a dense vegetation of chestnut trees, oaks, locust trees and beautiful summer pastures. Emptied by emigration Arcumeggia was chosen as the venue for the event "Painters on holiday", which would attract artists capable of reviving figurative art, as opposed to the abstract and informal avant-garde.
