If you are into hiking, the Sharon Audubon has awesome trails and is only 10 minutes away! They also have a butterfly garden, aviaries, and a scenic pond. We spend a lot of time at the Audubon with our kids.

Clark Outdoors is the best place to rent kayaks, canoes, or rafts to take down the Housatonic River, and is about 20 minutes away. The friendly staff will drop you off at one spot, and pick you up at the end. This is definitely one of the most peaceful ways to enjoy the beauty that northwestern Connecticut has to offer!

Clarke Outdoors
163 US-7Clark Outdoors is the best place to rent kayaks, canoes, or rafts to take down the Housatonic River, and is about 20 minutes away. The friendly staff will drop you off at one spot, and pick you up at the end. This is definitely one of the most peaceful ways to enjoy the beauty that northwestern Connecticut has to offer!

We love taking our kids for bike rides and easy strolls along the paved paths of the Rail Trail. There are several entrances, but my favorite is the main entrance in Millerton, across from Harney Teas.

Although it's a bit of a drive at 30 minutes away, the Innisfree Garden is well worth it. You will find breathtaking beauty with every new turn.

This is the best local spot to pick berries, peaches, apples and pumpkins. Not only do they have a gorgeous view, but their apple cider donuts are the best!

This is a small zoo run by Millbrook School, and is under 20 minutes from the property. It is the perfect size for young kids to run around in without getting (too) exhausted. We go there several times a year to visit the lemurs, red pandas, wolves, snakes, ducks, and other animals. The staff are friendly and very happy to answer any and all questions!

We go there several times a year to visit the lemurs, red pandas, wolves, snakes, ducks, and other animals. The staff are friendly and very happy to answer any and all questions!
The Grove has a lovely lake beach that is perfect for families, and is 20 minutes away. There are a ton of lifeguards, and separate sections for toddlers and experienced swimmers. They also have a huge playground, and grills with picnic tables!

The Lantern is a great place to enjoy wood-fired pizza, and is only 10 minutes away. This is our favorite restaurant in the area, and we highly recommend the "heart throb" pizza, especially if you want to try a delicious pizza that is both sweet and spicy! We love to bring the kids here, as there is space for them to run around, but it is also great for casual date nights and takeout.

This is our favorite restaurant in the area, and we highly recommend the "heart throb" pizza, especially if you want to try a delicious pizza that is both sweet and spicy! We love to bring the kids here, as there is space for them to run around, but it is also great for casual date nights and takeout.
This is a great spot to sit outside and enjoy delicious French food. The French onion soup is an absolute must!

At 10 minutes away, Four Brothers Pizza is the perfect place for takeout. They also have a fun outdoor area with ride on vehicles and swings for young kids. They also have a drive in movie theater during the summer!
