Number one place for coffee in Hobart! A little hole-in-the-wall-ish type place with coffee. A few stools inside, small tables and stools outside. Serve a delicious and smooth, creamy piccolo at this cute little hidden away cafe. Try the banana espresso smoothie? Good with kids. A number of the foodie tours kick off here.

Try the savoury muffins when they're just out of the oven (8:30 am) I can promise you won't be disappointed. Soft on the inside, altitude crunchy on the outside and different flavours every day. Do rate. Coffee depends on your barista. Can be amazing, can be a little average.

Take yourself and your children to the Hobart Maritime Museum. The historic Carnegie Building is a fitting home to the museum’s collection of ship models, artefacts, paintings and images. Discover the craft and art of ship building through displays of boat builder’s tools and historic dinghies. Navigational instruments show how mariners found their way across the seas while archaeological discoveries from shipwrecks around the Tasmanian islands show how challenging, difficult and dangerous the seafarer’s life could be.

Sightseeing

The Tasman Bridge is totally reinforced and safe to cross but just as a bit of history a disaster occurred on the evening of 5 January 1975, in Hobart, when a bulk ore carrier travelling up the Derwent River collided with several pylons of the Tasman Bridge, causing a large section of the bridge deck to collapse onto the ship and into the river below. Twelve people were killed, including seven crew on board the ship, and the five occupants of four cars which fell 45 m (150 feet) after driving off the bridge. The disaster severed the main link between Hobart and its eastern suburbs, and is notable for the social impacts that resulted from the loss of such an important road artery.
