Our own local farmer's market is at the Crow and Gate Pub every Sunday from 10-2. Get there early and take 40+ vendors, live music and food trucks. Worth the trip for sure and then you can take in a pint at the pub afterwards.

Quiet unspoiled. Views of bald eagles, sea lions, deer and possible orca (but rare). Some of the best that waling on the west coast has to offer in our area. A lovely way to spend 2-3 hours, bring your camera.

A local gem, this walk offers stunning views, beaches and landscapes. A beautiful walk around the island takes about 2 hours at a leisurely pace. There is a small foot passenger ferry service that runs frequently or you can kayak over. Bring a picnic!

Getting Around
Car rental is available 10 minutes away at the Nanaimo Cassidy (YCD) airport. Taxi's are readily available to/from the airport as well. Book ahead for both.

If you have interest in boats, boat building or float homes this is a very unique west coast town. One of the BEST bakeries on the island is located here True Grain Bakery. Great shops, seafood restaurants and locally made cheese shop. Many wineries nearby make for a great day out.
