Food scene

Delicious home-roasted coffee, cabinet food and cruisy vibe.
Lots of yummy craft beers to try, over three levels. Sit outside on the street terrace, the balcony or rooftop on sunny days or stay cosy inside when it's chilly. Delicious bar snacks and ok for kids too.

Absolute must if you are here on a Saturday! Lots of tasters to try; buskers and delicious produce. I recommend the Turkish gozleme ; local coffee, bakery goods and cheeses. Pack a picnic and take it to the beach, or back to the apartment to nibble at for the rest of your stay.

Delicious share-able menu. Karage chicken and beef cheeks are recommended! The bar staff are super friendly and make great cocktails. Head here for happy hour and stay on for dinner. It's called 'Civil and Naval' as that is the original name of the tailor's shop that used to be housed here.

A quick ferry ride across the bay takes you to this verdant artistic village. Wander up the 15 min track to get to the village, historic artist's residence and a cold beer or delicious Kapiti icecream. Keep an eye out for dolphins as you leave the harbour. A friendly one swims next to the boat sometimes.
