If you can only do one hike during your stay, go here! Most bang for your buck : ) Hike is about 45 min drive from our house, fairly short hike (4 miles round trip) with amazing views (on a clear day of course). Pack a lunch and eat it at the top : ) Bottom of the trail is a nice lake - not sure if people swim there but a great place to relax.

Large waterfall with viewing areas near free parking lot. Can simply view falls or walk down trail to the bottom. This is a great "hike" for small children...more of a walk for adults. It was the first hike our 3 year old did unassisted.

Great hike, not too far from Seattle. 8 miles round trip, significant elevation gain will give you a work out. Parking requires a "Discovery Pass" which can be purchased at stores like REI or other retailers. It's $10/day/car or $30 for annual pass/car. http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/ Very popular hike
