It is one of the best and most famous restaurants of Madrid. It is popularly known for its magnificent “huevos estrellados” (fried eggs), delicious: Although also its meats, omelettes, etc are very good. It is a very traditional classic restaurant of Madrid, place that is frequented by many famous and whose walls have seen many historic figures having lunch or dinner. He is known to be quite visited by King Juan Carlos I. Not a cheap restaurant but not prohibitive . Certainly worth it to take a little treat.

Shopping

Essential visit being in Madrid one Sunday or festively in the morning (only these days, from 9 to 3 pm). A special place in which you will always find something for a present. Marvelous place to buy … and to have “aperitivo” on Sunday morning (beer or martini and “bocata de calamares” -sandwich with squids-), as we do many persons from Madrid every weekend.

In the area where Sunday the El Rastro is, but also open weekdays, around Ribera de Curtidores street there are many excellent stores for the purchase of antiques and decor beautiful and very original. There since ancient furniture to vintage furniture. Ship to anywhere in the world. We highlight the "New Gallery" (Ribera de Curtidores, 12) and "paintings Piquer" (Ribera de Curtidores, 29), because in their local are all kinds of objects.

The streets Preciados and del Carmen, 10 minutes far from Cava Baja 39, constitute the most crowded axis of shopping of the city of Madrid. Dozens shops of clothes, footwears, etc, included department stores like El Corte Ingles, Zara, etc mark out these streets, habitual place of shooping of “madrileños”, especially in “Sales” periods (July - August and January - February). Both streets depart from Puerta del Sol (along with the sculpture of “El Oso y el Madroño” (the Bear and the Strawberry tree).
