For east London’s fashionably attired food-lovers, there's no better Saturday destination than Broadway Market. Quaint cafés, pubs and indie music shops line the street, but the real star here is the market. The food-loving hipster's weekend hangout of choice, Broadway Market is as much about seeking out quality food as it is about just letting your hair down and soaking up the vibe. Stalls range from the classic to the exotic and there are lots of craft stall too.

There are so many Vietnamese restaurants near here, but this one is one of the originals in the area and is arguably the mainstay of Shoreditch's Vietnamese enclave, for beef pho in a basic street-kitchen setting.

Known as the ‘People’s Park’ Victoria Park is one of London’s favourite open spaces, stretched over a huge 86.18 hectares. In the summer, it’s taken over by a number of festivals, from Field Day to Lovebox and in the autumn park-goers are treated to epic fireworks displays. There are three expansive lakes and two amazing playgrounds. Wildlife includes a deer enclosure, moorhens, grey and Canada geese and squirrels. It’s also the place to go for outdoor pursuits with tennis courts, a bowling green and a boating lake.

Arts & Culture

The Geffrye explores the home and the way people live. Our collections show how homes have been used and furnished over the past 400 years, reflecting changes in society and behaviour as well as style, fashion and taste. A series of period rooms lead visitors on a walk through time from 17th century oak furniture and panelling, past muted Georgian elegance and eclectic Victorian style, to 20th century modernity and contemporary living. There is also a nice restaurant and cafe.
