Tampa is known for tacos and Cuban food. Make sure you get some TacoSon before leaving! This is generally known as the best spot in Tampa for tacos (don't be fooled by people shouting for Taco Bus!).

Artisan foods and a little bit more expensive than some of my other food favorite, Ella's is a great place for happy hour or a nice dinner out. They have a great deck for outdoor dining, which is especially nice in non-summer and when there is a band playing inside. It's great for a romantic date or for a meet up with friends.

I wish we had a Buddy Brew closer to our home, but if you are venture out and about in the world of Tampa and need a pourover, latte, or just some locally-roasted beans, go here.

Cigar City makes some of the best ciders and meads I've tasted. Yes, there are a TON of great breweries all over Tampa, but there is only one meadery. It's in the heart of Ybor, so it's great to start there and then hop to dinner, movie, show, or just another pub.

I LOVE COPPERTAIL! It's one of my favorite breweries. It has a huge amount of rotating taps, they host other local beers and ciders, and their newly opened kitchen is fantastic. They host trivia every Tuesday.

Big Cat is a unique kind of zoo. They rescue big cats from all over the world, for all different reasons. Touring the grounds is absolutely amazing. Sometimes you can even ask if Karmavore is working, and tell her that you're staying with Khaos. She is sometimes able to give special tours.

Tampa Roller Derby's home is only 3 blocks from our house! If you stay with us on a weekend between March and October, it is likely that there will be an event happening at The Wrecking Hall. Flat Track Roller Derby is a great night out, and we often end up at World of Beer, Fuzzy Tacos, or Southern Brewing Company for our afterparties.

While you're there, swing by THE BODEGA for lunch just around the corner. It's the best Cuban food I've found in the area yet.

They often have events and yoga in the courtyard. Near downtown St. Pete, it's a great reason to go down to my favorite art community.

We have 2 Publix easily accessible, and this one is within biking distance on back roads. It is in the same plaza as a KMart, UPS, and Walgreens, and is next to a Dunkin Donuts. All your essentials are covered!

Parks & Nature
Flatwoods is well-paved trail that is perfect for a longer bike, skate, or run. It is $2 to park, but it's a loop of (I think) 5 miles. There are water stations all along the trail, so don't fret if you have a small (or no) water bottle.
