Sightseeing

Monsal Head is literally less than 10 mins by car from our cottage & it is an unbelievable view from the car park at the top overlooking the famous bridge. It reminded me the first time I saw it of a green 'Grand Canyon' not to be missed.

Known locally as the Cathedral of the Peaks this is a stunning church which attracts many visitors mainly because of the size of the church & the architecture. Bell practice is pretty enchanting and we often hear them whilst waiting for our Fish & Chips from Elliotts across the road from the church. You are allowed into the very top of the church by appointment only & you must be escorted I am told the view is simply amazing & not many people know about this!

Parks & Nature

This is such a safe & pretty walk, very easy, shaded with the sound of trickling water accompanying you most of the way down. There is a path too so no need to get muddy, but plenty of deviations off the path high up into the hills. It will take about 15 minutes to walk to Tideswell Dale from TOTS or less than 3 mins in the car to the carpark. you do have to pay for the car park, or you could just catch a bus down there. Look out for the HUGE hedgehog which is really a work of art.
