This bridge unfolds to let boats through. A fun way to get to other fun parts of the waterfront - the Viaduct, Britomart, the ferries.

A walk around the museum will give you wonderful views from all three sides. There is a cute model ship workshop upstairs where you can meet the makers sometimes. Recommend the Ted Ashby sailing boat - sails twice per day and at $25 for an hour trip around the harbour, its a steal. This gives you entry to the museum.
The museum is staffed by volunteers who are all very helpful. Want to hear a cannon fired each day at 12? Book the afternoon boat trip, get there in time for 12 and look around the museum and go down to pier (at the back of the bar called Lu La Inn) for the cannon firing. Block your ears!
