If you want to go into San Diego for the day, this is one of our favorite beaches! There is also hiking with a nice hiking trail along the cliffs near the ocean.

Cedar Creek Falls is a spectacular waterfall plunging 80 feet into a large pool of water. The trails to Cedar Creek Falls lead hikers through the beautiful backcountry hills of eastern San Diego. The chaparral plant community provides habitat for bird watching. Water levels at the falls vary substantially throughout the year. The falls typically do not run during the summer months when the pool at the base of the falls is stagnant and filled with algae.

We love Trader Joe's, but we don't have one in Ramona... this is the closest location to our place - about a 25/30 minute drive depending on traffic.

Julian is just up the 67 from us... only about a 30 minute drive. Famous for their Apple Pie! Lots of cute shops and restaurants! We love: Jeremy's on the Hill (farm to table); The Julian Soap Company (I drive all the way there to get my soap... it's hand made, natural and luxurious!); Mama's (famous for pie especially their Apple Pie, etc.)

The whole little town of Julian is lined with cute little shops and touristy storefronts, cafes and restaurants. One of my favorite shops is: the Julian Soap Company! The owner is very friendly and she hand makes all of her soaps. Very creative, artisan and fine soaps like look and smell so good you could almost eat them! Minimum and high quality ingredients.

Salerno Winery is a cultural destination nestled in the hills of Ramona Valley, located off of Route 67. Visit this rustic, yet elegant winery where you will be greeted by a clusters of romantic statues as you walk up to their tasting terrace, where you can enjoy the quiet outdoor setting offering sweeping views of hills of vineyards. While you are there, you can also enjoy a game of bocce ball or garden chess (with 3 feet pieces!). They have something for everyone! Also, now serving pizza!
