Sightseeing
The bridge was built in 1931 and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. The bridge is one of three surviving vertical-lift bridges. This historic bridge has been converted for pedestrian/bicycle use only. And is now linked to other favorite bike trails in the area. With a park, coffee shop, candy store and restroom facilities within a couple blocks- makes for a simple outing to sit and relax as the bridge is lifted for passing boats.
