The owners, Clementine and Pierre, welcome guests to their new restaurant using products from their own garden. They also offer a tearoom, a small shop, a cocktail bar, catering and banquet facilities and the possibility of touring their beautiful 16th century style garden which is dominated by yew trees ("if" in French). Workshops are occasionally offered on planting a vegetable garden, maintaining a rose garden or other topics. In addition, Clementine is from Sydney!
Open 12 pm - 9 pm, closed Tuesdays, evenings by reservation only Tel 06 09 65 78 98. Closed for the season between mid-October and April.

Most of the buildings were destroyed during the French Revolution. Only one 60 m long wing, Louis XIV dependencies and Louis XVI amphitheatre still survive.
During most of WWII it served as a military barracks for approximately 150 German troops. In September 1944, General Bernard Montgomery established his general headquarters here for serveral days.
Visit of grounds and chapel are possible between 1 July and 10 August from noon to 6 pm.

During WWI New Zealanders in particular expanded the network of tunnels and rooms creating an underground city used by forces of the British Empire and Commonwealth, During the Battle of Arras 1917, it was used for the Allied offensive which was launched in the early hours of 9 April 1917 when 24,000 men surged out from their underground hiding places. Very emotional feeling at the exit.
