Kampa (also Na Kampě) is an island in the Vltava river in central Prague on the side of Malá Strana. Charles Bridge crosses its northern tip and is connected to the island by the street ulice Na Kampě. It is separated from Malá Strana by a narrow artificial channel to the west called the Devil's Stream (Čertovka), a waterway dug to power water mills (no longer existent). It is supposedly named after a sharp-tongued woman who lived in a local home called the Seven Devils.

Naplavka hub. Hailed by some as Prague’s “hipster hangout,” Naplavka is a stretch of pavement next to the banks of the Vltava, between the Palackého most (Palacký Bridge) and the Vytoň tram stop, and serves as a boardwalk of sorts during Prague’s warm-weather moments. Bordered by boats and modest riverfront restaurants, during summer evenings Naplavka transforms from a boring stretch of riverbank into one of the liveliest hangouts in Prague. There is almost always a different kind of live music playing. Variety is never a problem and depending on the day, you can hear anything from dub-step to swing and maybe even join a group that has sprung up for an impromptu dance party.

Sightseeing

The Petřín Lookout Tower is a 63.5-metre-tall steel-framework tower in Prague, which strongly resembles the Eiffel Tower. Although it is much shorter than the Eiffel Tower, it stands atop a sizable hill, Petřín, so the top is at a higher elevation than that of the Eiffel Tower. The Petřínská rozhledna was built in 1891 and was used as an observation tower as well as a transmission tower. Today the Petřínská rozhledna is a major tourist attraction. The hill is roughly a half-hour walk up paths that get quite slippery when it snows, and the tower is a shorter but fairly tiring climb; however, the hill is served by a frequent funicular and the tower has an elevator for disabled persons.

It is a very trendy place in Prague where young professionals from age 20 to 50 hangout for drinks and cocktails. The place has a club vibe with house and deep house music playing all night long and it is suitable to visit before going out to the real club or it can easily be the real club.

Food Scene

Cafe -Cafe is located on Rytířská street. It's the place to see and to be seen at. Fashionable and cosy cafe-restaurant-bar. If you seek for nice place with a tasty bite make sure you check this out! Breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, risottos, anything you chose you can't go wrong. Sweet heaven - best cakes in town! My most favourite cafe and restaurant. Quality of all the food and especially homemade cakes never disappointed me. I can highly recommend you my beloved marzipan cake or baked chocolate banana cake. The staff is amazing, the place is gay friendly.

This is my absolutely favourite place to go for the best Italian ice cream in Prague! Velvet texture and angelic taste will immediately invoke the feeling of happiness and satisfaction in you. Note that one of the most loved ice-cream places in Prague serves their gelato and sorbets in gluten-free cones when requested. Fresh, home-made, superior quality and extra tasty.

For those looking for a distinctively refined First-Republic Prague atmosphere. With a Neo-Renaissance ceiling dating back to the late 19th century, this café boasts a true First Czechoslovakian Republic atmosphere. You'll also find that the menu is truly evocative of these bygone years with wonderful Schnitzels and succulent Sachertorte.

Arts & Culture

This theater is not only beautiful, but has very nice history too. The National Theatre belongs to the most important Czech cultural institutions, with a rich artistic tradition, which helped to preserve and develop the most important features of the nation–the Czech language and a sense for a Czech musical and dramatic way of thinking. TIP: There is a small square behind the building which often hosts design markets and other events.
