This is a great local place for takeout that is close to the house if you want to try local Hawaiian cuisine and snacks. They have a wide variety of good and fresh poke, classic Hawaiian plates, and local favorites.

Parks & Nature
This is a nice little hiking trail that has a trailhead which is very convenient and close to the house. As you walk along the trail, you will transition through at least 3 different "micro-ecosystems" ranging from a lush tropical forest to a typical pine forest. There are also great views at the top.

Wa'ahila Ridge State Recreation Area
1600 Ruth PlThis is a nice little hiking trail that has a trailhead which is very convenient and close to the house. Another recommended trail mainly because of it's closeness to the house. It is short and a bit touristy, but still nice. There is an additional trail past Manoa Falls which is a little dangerous and only recommended for the adventurous.

Great family park, they have everything here, a running/walking trail, playgrounds, workout stations, football and baseball fields, tennis courts, tons and tons of green lawn, a zoo, and the beach is right next to it. Also a great place to watch the sunset and find free parking for the beach.
