Food Scene

This is a great family-run sushi restaurant. About 3min walk from apartment. Very decent prices and great quality.
Amazing dumplings, my favorite. Some say it's the best in SF. But be ready to wait for a while if during rush hour.

Sightseeing

About 20minutes walk away up the hill, or 5min drive. This is an hidden gems in San Francisco. Walk all the steps to top of the hill and see breath-taking view of the Pacific Ocean, Golden Gate and the city.
Moraga Steps
Moraga Steps
Alternative (for locals) to twin peak. Better views and less crowded, but you need to walk about 5-10 minutes to get there from the street parking. This is where Clint Eastwood got hurt in the scene in Dirty Hairy next to the big cross. You can also walk there straight from apartment in about 45min but it is uphill. It's a beautiful walk through an exclusive and fancy neighborhood.

Visit golden gate bridge

You can take the 19th avenue bus (SFMTA 28 bus). Check on the SFMTA website for the real time tracking of the bus. It takes about 6 minutes to get to the stop on Ulloa and 19th avenue (north direction up the hill). There is another stop at Taraval and 19th avenue with display on estimated time. It takes you to the golden gate park in about 10minutes and Golden gate bridge in about 20min. From there you can walk the bridge. There is also parking at the bridge but expect delays since it is very popular.

Budget minded food tips

Food in San Francisco is great, but can be pricey. Asian food around the house is usually cheaper for the same or better quality than rest of the city. Another tip: You can buy pre-made meals/salads at most Whole Food in the city. Safeway has also pre-made salads or pre-made meals. You can use the mini-oven or microwave in apartment to cook them. For those not from the US: There are some great fast food options that won't break the bank. You can usually have a relatively good and somewhat healthy meal for less than 10$. In'n out : One of best burgers chains (< ~$10). Only in the west coast. The only In'n out in San Francisco is in Fisherman Wharf. Chipotle is a very popular and affordable (< ~10$) mexican/american fast food. The closest it at StonesTown Galleria about 20min walk. Blaze pizza: Custom made pizza (< ~10$). 20min walk at StonesTown Galleria.
