A justly famous castle- over restored in the 19th century and crowded in the summer but worth seeing all the same. Go early in the morning to avoid some of the crowds. 40 mins from us.

Medieval walled city located in the center of Carcassonne On the 14th of July, Bastille day there is an amazing firework display done over the ramparts. We tend to park on the outskirts of the city and then bike in and picnic in a field to avoid some of the traffic.

A beautiful half timbered town with a wonderful Monday morning farmers market. The cathedral is also worth a visit.

Place du ChâteauA tough climb at times but a fabulous view. Takes about an hour and a half to walk up and do ask us for the best way to climb up. We recommend bringing a picnic and a bathing suit for after your climb as there is a man made lake at the foot of the mountain where you can swim and picnic. Bugerach is 50 minutes from us.

We recommend bringing a picnic and a bathing suit for after your climb as there is a man made lake at the foot of the mountain where you can swim and picnic. Bugerach is 50 minutes from us.

Wonderful and very friendly butcher. Sells very tasty "boudin noir" - blood sausage on a Tuesday evening. We usually get there for 6 when it just comes out still warm and take it out and eat it at one of the cafes on the main square with a glass of wine or a beer.
