Baroque colonial church (mudejar style) built in 1569. The 1st church in the Azuero, perhaps one of the most beautiful colonial altars in Panama. Tower reconstructed in 1913 by my great grandfather.

Side trip to Guararé. Small museum of Panamanian traditional dresses. A must see and pretty cheap. The small church is nearby as well.

Nice beach with no facilities other than a spartan little ranch (beverages). Here you can hire the boat rides to "Isla Iguana" (Iguana Island) reserve. If at Pedasi also visit the lovely town.

Park with monument to Rufina Alfaro,famous for the "Scream of Independence" (1821). Nobody seems to know if she really existed or not.

Right on the corner (top floor) in front of Parque La Bandera, this small, cheap but excellent anthropological museum shows you some of its history prior to the arrival of the Spaniards.

If you come to Azuero by public transport you can arrive to the Terminal de Transporte de Herrera in Chitre. Then take a taxi to our home in La Villa. There is also public transport Panama - La Villa.

Local beach with parking and a nearby typical restaurant. No lifesavers. If it is too crowded you can visit Playa El Rompio which was better until govt. built (and abandoned) a port nearby.

One of my favourite beaches in Los Santos. If you don't like the public beach I *highly* recommend the nearby (300m) Rincon del Faro at the beach with pool and restaurant.

For your side trip to Las Tablas and El Uverito beach visit this old colonial church (1789) right at the main park in Las Tablas.

If you leave La Villa early with your own car you can spend part of the day at Playa Venao. It is a long trip but okay f you can spare some time.

Light or heavy breakfast (your choice) at the right price. Air conditioned, clean and with the best oatmeal for breakfast, only my aunt makes it better. The other Cafe Caney is atop the "El Machetazo"

If you don't want to cook here you can get a good dinner for a fair price. Nearby (300 m) there is also the less known (local secret) Los Alacranes with fresh seafood.
