You cant visit Mount Gambier without a drive around the lake. A popular 4.3km walking track, several viewing platforms and the pumping station does tours of our towns amazing natural water supply.

10 minute walk to the top, it’s a steep walk but the views are worth it! If you keep going you can walk the whole mountain trail. The tower is sometimes open at the top but if it isn’t there is still a great viewing platform.

A must see! Free walk through wildlife park, amazing playground, nature walks, bbq facilities, boat ramp for waterskiing (no general swimming though). Definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to drive down for a look.

Go at dusk and take some bread or fruit with you to feed the possums. Kids and adults of all ages love this! Walk down in to the sinkhole and await the beautiful wildlife that happily eat out of your hand

Stunning waterhole for swimming. Lots of cliffs to jump in, pontoon with ladder, it is cold but absolutely beautiful! No toilets, great on a hot day if you are looking to cool down. 20kms drive from Mount Gambier, worth a look if you are driving the Port MacDonnell

Bring walking shoes and a jacket
Mount Gambier experiences four true seasons. Nights can be chilly unless you are staying here jan-march when the nights can be mild or warm. Definitely have some warm clothes for evenings or unexpected weather, all year round. Walking shoes are a must there are so many great walking trails.

Cottage is child friendly
We have made our cottage child friendly as we too like to travel with our young children. The retreat room is a great place for kids to play and unwind so parents can also get some time to relax! Please note there are four steps down to the bathroom and back bedroom, there is a sliding door at the top of the steps though if you have toddlers. Please watch your children around the steps and the bunk beds. The property has gates and fully encloses giving you peace of mind when the kids are playing outside.
