The Fritz is our favorite downtown spot for a meal that's a little bit "elevated." Not fancy, but creative and always delicious!

Just upstairs from the best sandwich shop in town (same owners), Biker/Baker is our top choice for both breakfast/brunch and an afternoon rooftop cocktail.

Situated right above and on the Arkansas River, this is a big, busy place that is super-family friendly. Smoked chicken tacos are a personal fave, but everything is tasty!

Currents (like on the water, not the fruit) is tops for comfort food. If they have the meatloaf, get it! The patio is also a favorite people-watching spot, on the sunny side of the street.

Neighborhoods

Our "neigborhood" borders BLM (federal) land, and is quiet and private, yet just minutes from downtown. You can't really see our neighbors from the house, but they are all full-time resident families. We value and respect their peace and privacy too, and ask our guests to do the same, by agreeing to no parties or extra guests, and to adhere to a 10 pm - 7am Quiet Zone. Thanks!

Salida has it all!

Salida is truly a special place. Known as the "Heart of the Rockies," Salida packs a surprisingly diverse array of activities for such a small town (5600 or so full time residents). In particular, arts and outdoor recreation are among its strongest offerings. CHeck out the City's webpage for a one-stop-shop for everything that's happening around town: www. cityofsalida .com / things-to-do Salida is situated in the Upper Arkansas River Valley, and is surrounded by the biggest grouping of "14ers" in the state, and although town is at about 7,000 ft in elevation, our place is at 8,000 ft. If you want help planning the ultimate personally curated adventure during your stay, you need to talk to Kat at Adventure Navigators! From personal chefs to ice fishing, Kat knows everyone and everything imaginable to make your visit "once in a lifetime" special. Tell her Anne sent you!
