Not been myself but hear it is very nice especially afternoon tea. Perhaps book your table in advance if it is for an evening meal in the restaurant, they also have a brasserie bar. They have a breakfast menu also. Telephone 863666.

Drinks & Nightlife
This is my favourite, a pub with good food right on the quay so when the tide is up its lovely to sit outside and watch the birds and boats. There is a ferry over the water too. This traditional pub does lovely food in my opinion.

Getting Around
It is a nice walk along the picturesque waterfront of Wivenhoe, alongside the quay where there are boats and out onto the broad along the River Colne. It passes over the marshland, often grazed by cattle. There is a well established woodland bordering Alresford Grange. A nice wander in nice weather and then back for a drink at the Rose and Crown on the quay.

Buses are every few minutes to Colchester in the daytime and drop you off opposite the flat. The journey to Colchester can be by car and park in one of the town car parks or catch the bus from up the road by walking left out of the flat.
