Situated on walking distance from our villa, you can find one of our favourite places around Içmeler. This restaurant specialises in soups and pides (a kind of cano-shaped pizza), and makes them very well. They also serve some kebap dishes and dürüms (Turkish wraps). The restaurant is a bit more easy-going, but very tasty (and inexpensive) and thus perfect if you do not have a lot of time to eat out or if you're feeling a bit lazy.

The town attracts many young Turkish tourists which is reflected in the vibrancy of the town due to the cute restaurants and the many cozy bars offering live music. Through the town flows a small river (azmak) carrying ice-cold water from the mountains on which you can take a boat tour which offers very pretty views of the town, the nature around it and the water itself. You can also take a very refreshing dive in the water.

A very small antique city located close to the villa (near Turunç). The city contains a small theatre and offers amazing views of the bays around it. If you follow the road down the ancient city you can reach the Amos bay. It is small but definitely a sight to see. It’s pebble beach is surrounded by beautiful mountains. If you go, be sure to bring chairs and umbrellas for shade since there are no establishments on the bay to offer these.

An ancient city which takes a bit longer to travel to (2 hour drive), but definitely worth the visit if you are interested in Greek/Roman history or already in the area. The town is quite sizable, with a theatre, agora, a few temples and churches, some fountains and two harbours. From the higher areas of the antique city as beautiful view of the two harbours can be admired. The beaches around the antique city can be enjoyed as well and the area is also famous for its beautiful sunsets.

The beaches around the antique city can be enjoyed as well and the area is also famous for its beautiful sunsets.

This is a nice town to visit, but the highlight of the town is its bay with crystal blue water and the nature that surrounds it. From the town's main beach you make a small walk (5-10 min) along the sides of the bay after which you arrive to a different bay, Cennet Koyu. In our opinion this is the prettiest bay in the Marmaris region and if you are lucky you can enjoy the beauty of the bay all alone.

It is said that Marc Anthony made 400 ships carry sand from Egypt so he could enjoy this beach with Cleopatra. On the island there is also a small antique city, which can be explored if you want to take a break from swimming

Transportation within Marmaris
There are busses, mini busses (“dolmuş”) and taxis that you can take for your travels within İçmeler, Marmaris and between the two. The bus stops and taxis are located right around the corner from our villa once you reach the main İçmeler street.

There is a bus station at the entrance of Marmaris, which offers bus rides to many nearby towns. There are also many taxis at the station that you can take.
