If you fancy a trip “doon the watter” the Isle of Bute is the most easily accessible island from Glasgow. Get the train from Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay (beautiful Victorian Station) where the ferry terminal is joint to the train station meaning you can jump straight on to the boat and take the 30 minute crossing to the town of Rothesay. When you are there make sure you visit Isle of Bute Gin Distillery and try out the range.
